Trading Signals - 12 October 2026

29 trade ideas for 12 October 2026: 27 long and 2 short. Entry, stop and two targets are given for each, with the reasoning and the level at which the idea is abandoned.

Today's framework

Monday 12 October 2026. The week opens with a measured appetite for risk on the easing in oil, but the basis is fragile: neither side has yet confirmed the Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire Trump announced, and the Houthis struck Riyadh airport, raising the risk of a second front in the Gulf. Japan is on holiday today and the United States is on a partial holiday; the real move comes with Wednesday's CPI and the bank results that start tomorrow. Headline inflation is expected to rise 0.6% on energy, with core staying at 0.2%.

Every idea on the list is medium-term and all are taken at the market. The setups fall into two kinds — a pullback within an intact trend and relative strength — and each note names the one that applies.

Trade ideas

The line under each name is the instrument symbol and every idea on this list is medium-term. Entry is given as a band, and the note under the table opens with the kind of setup the idea is.

  • 1. BTC — long. Pullback within trend. At 84,118 dollars and up 1.35% yesterday, continuing to recover from last week's heavy selling; the price is above all of the 50, 100 and 200-day averages, and those averages are clustered between 75,700 and 80,200, so there is a wide support area underneath. The first resistance is 85,000. Institutional flow does not confirm it, though: the spot funds saw a net 386 million dollars leave over October's first seven trading days. Action: buy in the 83,400-84,300 band, target 90,600. Invalidated if: A close below 79,770.
  • 2. ETH — long. Pullback within trend. At 2,566 dollars and with 2.30% yesterday it left bitcoin behind; it closed above the average at 2,505 dollars and the trend has turned up. The fund side, though, is far worse than bitcoin's: there has not been a single day of net inflow since 28 September, 697 million dollars left over a nine-session run and 635 million of that belongs to October. Money keeps leaving while the price recovers. Action: small buy in the 2,540-2,580 band, target 2,844. Invalidated if: A close below 2,381.
  • 3. AMD — long. Pullback within trend and relative strength. At 608.10 dollars and one of the two strongest setups today: two signals are positive at once on the candidate list, it is 15.5% ahead of the index over the past month and the monthly gain is 20.8%. It pulled back 2.03% on Friday and the price came down to just above the past month's average, so the overbought pressure has cleared. Momentum is healthy at 57. Action: buy in the 605-615 band, target 698. Invalidated if: A close below 548.
  • 4. META — long. Pullback within trend and relative strength. At 718.67 dollars and the other strongest setup: two signals are positive at once and it is 8.8% ahead of the index over the past month. It sits on the right side of the divergence within technology; on Friday Amazon rose 3.29% and Microsoft 2.38% while the chip side was sold and the platform names were spared. The price is just above the past month's average and momentum is 57. Action: buy in the 714-724 band, target 802. Invalidated if: A close below 663.
  • 5. Gold — long. Pullback within trend. At 4,222 dollars and it saw its highest level since 2 October; the weekly gain is 1.43% and momentum has recovered to 44. The mechanism is clear: as oil eases, part of the urgent inflation and rate worry leaves the market, and that opens room for an asset with no yield. The dollar has also slipped a little from an 18-month high. Action: buy in the 4,200-4,240 band, target 4,380. Invalidated if: A close below 4,128.
  • 6. Copper — long. Pullback within trend. At 6.746 dollars and up 1.56% yesterday, close to record territory; the price is only 1.2% below its one-year high and the weekly gain is 3.91%. The trend is up in every time frame and momentum is healthy at 54. Artificial intelligence infrastructure investment remains a direct source of demand for this metal; the strengthening in the Korean won feeds off the same theme. Action: buy in the 6.70-6.78 band, target 7.05. Invalidated if: A close below 6.50.
  • 7. XOM — long. Relative strength. At 168.94 dollars and within 3% of its one-year high; the weekly gain is 3.01% and momentum is strong at 64. Even with oil easing to 103 dollars, energy stocks kept being bought on Friday, because Goldman raised its December Brent forecast from 85 to 90 dollars and puts the risk premium above 20 dollars. Action: buy in the 167.50-169.50 band, target 179. Invalidated if: A close below 160.
  • 8. CVX — long. Relative strength. At 211.98 dollars and within 2.7% of its one-year high; the weekly gain is 2.56% and momentum is 60. The same thesis as Exxon. Production in the Gulf of Mexico is coming back after Hurricane Isaias, which is a short-term negative but is already priced in. Action: buy in the 210.50-213.00 band, target 222. Invalidated if: A close below 202.
  • 9. AMZN — long. Relative strength. At 262.43 dollars and with 3.29% on Friday it was the strongest large stock in the market; the weekly gain is 4.34% and momentum is 59. The price closed above the past month's high. The cloud side is a direct beneficiary of artificial intelligence spending and the name least affected by the funding debate. Action: buy in the 259-263 band, target 282. Invalidated if: A close below 245.
  • 10. MSFT — long. Relative strength. At 535.07 dollars and up 2.38% on Friday, within 2.6% of its one-year high; the weekly gain is 3.39% and the price sits above the 200-day average by 18.4%. Momentum has approached overbought at 68, so the entry is not chased. It is the leader of the cloud side in the divergence within technology. Action: buy in the 528-534 band, target 572. Invalidated if: A close below 505.
  • 11. GOOGL — long. Pullback within trend. At 351.66 dollars and up 0.97% on Friday; the weekly gain is 2.38% and momentum is 56. The price is above the past month's average and the trend is up in every time frame. It is part of the strong run on the platform side. Action: buy in the 349-353 band, target 376. Invalidated if: A close below 332.
  • 12. AAPL — long. Pullback within trend. At 336.64 dollars and down 1.11% on Friday; the weekly gain is still 0.88% and the trend is up. Momentum is mid-range at 56 and the price is 2.5% below its one-year high. Staying outside the artificial intelligence funding debate preserves its defensive quality. Action: buy in the 334-338 band, target 358. Invalidated if: A close below 322.
  • 13. NVDA — long. Pullback within trend. At 229.28 dollars and down 0.52% on Friday; the weekly loss is 2.00% and momentum is 53. The price sits above the 200-day average by 12.5% and the trend is up, but the selling in the chip supply chain continues in this name too. Thursday's TSMC results will set the direction for this side. Action: buy in the 228-232 band, target 248. Invalidated if: A close below 220.
  • 14. TSM — long. Pullback within trend. At 453.31 dollars and with a 4.12% weekly loss it was among the worst of the chip side; momentum has come down to 53 and the price is below the past month's average. On Thursday it is expected to report a sixth consecutive record quarter, and Foxconn lifting its third-quarter revenue 47% on artificial intelligence demand supports that expectation. The selling comes from the funding debate, not from the business. Action: buy in the 450-456 band, target 492. Invalidated if: A close below 430.
  • 15. TSLA — long. Relative strength. At 382.70 dollars and up 2.05% on Friday; the weekly gain is 3.27% and momentum is 60. The price has moved just above the 200-day average and the trend is trying to turn up from mixed. It is ahead of the index over the past month. Action: small buy in the 378-385 band, target 412. Invalidated if: A close below 362.
  • 16. Silver — long. Pullback within trend. At 61.30 dollars and 2.20% higher on the week; momentum at 43 is coming out of oversold and it is following gold's recovery. The price is still below the 200-day average by 5.5%, so there is room on the upside but the trend has not turned yet. Action: small buy in the 60.80-61.50 band, target 64.50. Invalidated if: A close below 58.90.
  • 17. Brent Crude — long. Pullback within trend. At 103.44 dollars and down 1.22% yesterday; Trump's announcement of a Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire and Russia's pledge of 300 thousand tonnes of diesel pulled the price down. The confirmation is weak, though: Zelensky said he was waiting for the details and Russia made no comment. Over the same weekend the Houthis struck Riyadh airport and two more tankers were attacked in Hormuz. Goldman puts the risk premium above 20 dollars. Action: buy in the 102.50-104.00 band, target 112. Invalidated if: A close below 97.
  • 18. WTI — long. Pullback within trend. At 90.37 dollars and down 1.61% yesterday; the spread to Brent is close to 13 dollars and Goldman puts that down to high US-Europe shipping costs. The bank forecasts a December 2026 WTI average of 81 dollars, below the current level. In the short term, production is coming back after the storm. Action: small buy in the 89.80-91.00 band, target 97. Invalidated if: A close below 86.
  • 19. SOL — long. Pullback within trend. At 112.98 dollars and up 3.03% yesterday; the weekly loss is still 7.09% but the trend is up in every time frame and the price sits above the 200-day average by 18%. Momentum is neutral at 47. On Friday the network cut its block time to 200 milliseconds, a permanent technical improvement. Action: buy in the 111-114 band, target 126. Invalidated if: A close below 104.
  • 20. AVAX — long. Relative strength. At 11.03 dollars and with 7.19% yesterday it was among the strongest in crypto; the monthly gain is 47.7% and it is clearly ahead of bitcoin over the past month. Momentum is healthy at 58 and the price sits above the 200-day average by 26%. The trend is mixed but the relative strength is clear. Action: buy in the 10.85-11.10 band, target 12.70. Invalidated if: A close below 9.90.
  • 21. ADA — long. Relative strength. At 0.2537 dollars and up 2.63% yesterday; the monthly gain is 22.9% and momentum has recovered to 55. The trend is mixed and the price sits above the 200-day average by 10%. Conditions have improved for the idea that was stopped out last week, but the confirmation is still weak. Action: small buy in the 0.2500-0.2550 band, target 0.2900. Invalidated if: A close below 0.2420.
  • 22. S&P 500 — long. Pullback within trend. At 7,811 and it closed the week with a 1.15% gain; it is only 0.4% below its record and momentum is 60. The fear index has come down to 14.84. In the results season that starts with the banks tomorrow, third-quarter earnings growth is expected at 29.6%; that would be a fourth consecutive quarter above 25%. All of the growth comes from technology, though. Action: buy in the 7,790-7,820 band, target 8,020. Invalidated if: A close below 7,730.
  • 23. Nasdaq 100 — long. Pullback within trend. At 30,883 and it closed the week 0.24% higher; momentum is 61 and the price is 1.5% below its record. Futures are 0.24-0.4% higher this morning. Wednesday's CPI and Thursday's TSMC results are the week's two tests. Action: buy in the 30,800-30,950 band, target 31,700. Invalidated if: A close below 30,550.
  • 24. DAX — long. Pullback within trend. At 25,087 and up 1.13% on Friday; European futures are 0.6% higher this morning. Momentum has recovered to 43 but the trend is still mixed and the price is just above the 200-day average. The pressure on European bonds has eased but has not resolved. Action: small buy in the 25,050-25,150 band, target 25,700. Invalidated if: A close below 24,790.
  • 25. FTSE 100 — long. Pullback within trend. At 10,552 and up 1.06% on Friday; momentum has recovered to 45. The index's weighting in energy and mining supports it while oil is at 103 dollars and copper is close to a record. The trend is still mixed. Action: small buy in the 10,520-10,580 band, target 10,870. Invalidated if: A close below 10,367.
  • 26. USDCHF — long. Pullback within trend. At 0.8302 and down 0.14% yesterday; the trend is up in every time frame and momentum is 62. The Fed is tightening while the Swiss rate is at zero, and the rate gap is widening in one direction only. The price is above the past month's average. Action: buy in the 0.8290-0.8315 band, target 0.8420. Invalidated if: A close below 0.8270.
  • 27. USDCAD — long. Pullback within trend. At 1.4258 and up 0.24% yesterday; momentum is 66 and the trend is up. The easing in oil works against the Canadian dollar and that supports the idea. The price is close to a 60-day high. Action: buy in the 1.4230-1.4270 band, target 1.4420. Invalidated if: A close below 1.4150.
  • 28. CHFJPY — short. Pullback within trend. At 190.66 and up 0.32% yesterday; the trend is down in every time frame and the price sits below the 200-day average by 2.6%. The move happened in thin liquidity because Japan is on holiday. Momentum is mid-range at 43. Action: sell in the 190.40-190.90 band, target 187. Invalidated if: A close above 192.50.
  • 29. Coffee — short. Pullback within trend. At 285.15 cents and down 1.35% yesterday; the monthly loss is 10.7% and the trend is down in every time frame.
