Trading Signals - 19 October 2026

18 trade ideas for 19 October 2026: 12 long and 6 short. Entry, stop and two targets are given for each, with the reasoning and the level at which the idea is abandoned.

Today's framework

Monday 19 October 2026. Chinese data opened up risk appetite over the weekend and the list leans into a recovery from Friday's selling: yields made their sharpest weekly fall in eight months, which lifts the metals, and futures point to a higher open. France and Hormuz are the two risks the notes keep returning to.

Twelve of the ideas are long and six short. Six are conditional: one limit buy on a pullback, two taken on the open and three waiting for a level to break.

Trade ideas

The entry condition says whether the idea is taken at the market or only once a stated level, a confirmation or the data release is met.

  • 1. BTC — long. The sellers have run out of fuel: leverage has emptied and funding is below zero. Chinese data opened up risk appetite, bitcoin is holding the 82 thousand support and there is no serious resistance above it up to 85 thousand. Invalidated if: Below 81,200.
  • 2. ETH — long. It was sold hard but started the turn with 3% overnight, and RSI is at the low. As BTC recovers this is the one that gets squeezed most, because the shorts are crowded. The room to 2,540 is open. It depends on BTC and is carried with it. Invalidated if: Below 2,350.
  • 3. SOL — short. SOL lags while BTC rises: it cannot find buyers even as the group recovers, and the structure is down. The first target is the 100-101 band. Invalidated if: A move back above 108.6, where the weakness ends; exit there.
  • 4. XRP — short. The weakest of the majors, crawling near the low. Failing to react while BTC and ETH rise shows the seller is in control. If Friday's low of 1.2562 breaks there is no support below it. Invalidated if: Above 1.3330.
  • 5. Gold — long. Yields made their sharpest weekly fall in eight months, the strongest tailwind there is for gold, which pays no interest. Safe-haven demand out of France and Hormuz sits on top of that. 4,274 is the intraday target. Invalidated if: Below 4,150.
  • 6. Silver — long. Chinese demand and falling yields are lifting the metals together; silver has a higher beta than gold and gains more in the same wind. 59.50 is the intraday target. The structure is weak, so the stop is tight. Invalidated if: Exit below 56.80.
  • 7. Copper — long. China's growth and retail surprise hit copper directly, which is where the demand actually sits. The trend is up with momentum behind it. 6.70 is the intraday target. Invalidated if: Below 6.54.
  • 8. Brent Crude — long. Entry is a limit buy on a pullback to 105.00. The waiver headline pressed the price today but the physical picture is solid: the attacks in Hormuz continue, Gulf flows have fallen from 20 million to 8.5 million barrels and freight is at a record. A slip to the base of the range is an opportunity. Invalidated if: Below 102.80, which would mean the waiver has turned into actual supply; exit there.
  • 9. S&P 500 — long. Friday's panic is overdone: of 32 cases where the VIX jumped on a Friday, 25 were given back on the Monday. Chinese data and futures up 0.8% support the open, and the entry is taken on the open. 7,795 is the intraday target. Invalidated if: A close below 7,655. It is results week, so keep the size controlled.
  • 10. Nasdaq 100 — long. The hardest sold is the one that turns hardest: RSI is at the low and futures are up 1.3%, with the entry taken on the open. Chinese data and the tendency for VIX spikes to be given back are in its favour. 30,100 is the intraday target. The risk is high, with Meta and Tesla reporting on Wednesday and the chip index down 11.4% last week. Invalidated if: Below 29,250; reduce the size before Wednesday.
  • 11. EURUSD — short. The worst protests in years in France, with the OAT-bund spread at 140 basis points; money is not going into the euro and rallies are being sold. The pressure lasts until the ECB on 29 October. 1.1160 is the intraday target, and below it lies the 16-month low. Invalidated if: Above 1.1275.
  • 12. GBPUSD — short. Sterling cannot rise against the dollar and the structure is down; the euro's weakness is spilling over here too. 1.3250 is the intraday target. Invalidated if: A break of the relative resistance of recent days, above 1.3378, ends the thesis; exit there.
  • 13. USDJPY — short. US long-term yields are falling, the real driver of this pair. On top of that Ueda said inflation is fairly close to 2%, and the threat of intervention caps the upside. 157.20 is the intraday target. Invalidated if: Above 158.75.
  • 14. AUDUSD — long. China's strong data and copper are directly behind the Aussie, and RSI is turning off oversold. The cleanest choice against the dollar. 0.7020 is the intraday target. Invalidated if: Below 0.6940.
  • 15. XOM — long. Entry above 179.16. The leader of the energy sector, pressing its 52-week high; even with oil futures falling on the waiver, the physical tightness holds the sector up. If the high breaks, the way to 183.5 is open. Invalidated if: Below 176, where the trigger has failed.
  • 16. META — long. The strongest of the mega-caps, it held up better than its peers in Friday's selling and is among the first to recover on a risk-on Monday. 730 is the intraday target. Invalidated if: Below 695. Wednesday's results are a two-sided risk, so close the position before the print.
  • 17. AAPL — long. Entry above 348.15. The mega-cap least affected by the worry over artificial intelligence capital spending; close to its 52-week high and relatively strong. If it breaks the high, the way to 355 is open. Invalidated if: Below 343, where the trigger has failed.
  • 18. TSLA — short. Entry below 345.88. The structure is down with 7% lost on the week, and it is among the most fragile in the chip and AI selling. If the 20-day low breaks it moves quickly to 332. Invalidated if: Above 356. Close before Wednesday's results.
