23 trade ideas for 27 October 2026: 9 long and 14 short. Entry, stop and two targets are given for each, with the reasoning and the level at which the idea is abandoned.
Today's framework
Tuesday 27 October 2026. Tomorrow is the day the list waits for: the Fed decides and Microsoft and Alphabet report the same evening. The funding question around artificial intelligence sharpened again, with Meta announcing a record 95 billion dollar capital raise and SpaceX signing a 40 billion dollar lease with Apollo. In oil, traffic through Hormuz is running at 60% of normal and October was the worst month there since 2017.
Nine of the ideas are long and fourteen short. All are taken at the market except bitcoin, which waits for a confirmed close. The buy side is energy and the cash-generating large caps; the sell side is the metals group and the technology names that depend on borrowing.
Trade ideas
Entry is given as a band, or as the single level a conditional idea needs. The note under the table gives the reasoning and the level at which the idea is abandoned.

- 1. BTC — long. At 79,956 dollars after slipping just below the 80,000 threshold; the 81,300 support that held for weeks has broken and is now resistance. The problem above it is concrete: between 81,000 and 82,500 there are 874 thousand bitcoin, so every attempt to recover can meet selling pressure in that area. The price sits above the 200-day average by 5.5%, so the long-term structure is intact. The Fed decides tomorrow and the direction becomes clear after that. The direction is up but the entry depends on confirmation. Action: buy if a close above 80,390 arrives, target 80,845. Invalidated if: A close below 79,368.
- 2. ETH — short. At 2,314.29 dollars with the price making successively lower highs and lower lows; the monthly loss is 14.17% and it is 8% behind bitcoin over the past month. It is left above the 200-day average by only 0.5%. Momentum at 34 is close to oversold, so the size is small, but the structure is clearly down. Action: small sell in the 2,320-2,335 band, target 2,293.09. Invalidated if: A close above 2,344.72.
- 3. XOM — long. At 184.54 dollars with the price making successively higher highs and higher lows; over the past month it returned 13.7% more than the market and the monthly gain is 14.91%. The price is at its one-year high. October was the worst month in Hormuz since 2017 and traffic is only 60% of normal; US forces are ready for an operation within 96 hours. Action: buy in the 183.80-184.60 band, target 184.59. Invalidated if: A close below 181.52.
- 4. CVX — long. At 232.01 dollars with the price holding its rising high-low structure; over the past month it is 12.5% ahead of the market and the monthly gain is 13.48%. It pulled back 0.51% yesterday, which improved the entry, and it is within 0.9% of its one-year high. Action: buy in the 231.50-232.80 band, target 234.08. Invalidated if: A close below 230.53.
- 5. TSLA — long. At 391.62 dollars and the price has moved into a rising high-low structure; with 5.21% yesterday it was the strongest stock in the market and over the past month it is 9.7% ahead. SpaceX's 40 billion dollar lease agreement with Apollo raised confidence in funding for Musk's companies. Momentum is healthy at 60. Action: buy in the 389-393 band, target 397.27. Invalidated if: A close below 383.73.
- 6. MSFT — long. At 532.60 dollars with the price in a rising high-low structure; over the past month it is 4.7% ahead of the market and it rose 1.54% yesterday. It reports tomorrow evening at the same time as the Fed decision, so the size is small. Action: small buy in the 531-533 band, target 533.25. Invalidated if: A close below 521.69.
- 7. AAPL — long. At 343.91 dollars with the price holding its rising high-low structure; it fell 1.10% yesterday and momentum is 58. The price is 2.2% below its one-year high. The structure is up but it is level with the market over the past month, so it is not leading. Action: small buy in the 343-345 band, target 347.09. Invalidated if: A close below 341.03.
- 8. Brent Crude — long. At 109.91 dollars with the price in a rising high-low structure; the monthly gain is 5.36% and momentum is 71. It fell 5.09% yesterday because Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan met in Tehran. But Gulf exports fell for a fourth consecutive week and traffic through Hormuz is 60% of normal; the pullback improved the entry. Action: buy in the 109.60-110.30 band, target 110.48. Invalidated if: A close below 109.53.
- 9. WTI — long. At 100.90 dollars with the price in a rising high-low structure; the monthly gain is 9.19% and it is holding above 100 dollars. It pulled back 0.85% yesterday. The spread to Brent is 9 dollars. Action: buy in the 100.60-101.30 band, target 101.60. Invalidated if: A close below 100.33.
- 10. FTSE 100 — long. At 10,767.30 and the price holds its rising structure; it rose 0.72% yesterday and momentum is 55. Its energy weighting supports it while Brent is at 110 dollars. Action: small buy in the 10,750-10,772 band, target 10,774.50. Invalidated if: A close below 10,689.
- 11. ASML — short. At 1,590.90 dollars with the price in a falling high-low structure; over the past month it is 10.1% behind the market and the monthly loss is 8.78%. It rose 1.22% yesterday but the structure did not change. Meta's 95 billion dollar capital raise and SpaceX's lease agreement show the scale of the capital infrastructure needs; orders from the smaller companies that cannot find that funding hit the equipment side. Action: sell in the 1,595-1,610 band, target 1,582.88. Invalidated if: A close above 1,612.
- 12. META — short. At 630.56 dollars and 11.8% behind the market over the past month; the weekly loss is 10.61% and the monthly 16.11%. It fell 1.88% yesterday and announced a record 95 billion dollar capital raise. That solves the funding problem but dilutes existing shareholders, and the cost of insuring the company's debt was at an all-time high last week. Action: sell in the 633-640 band, target 627.80. Invalidated if: A close above 647.69.
- 13. GOOGL — short. At 316.80 dollars and 7.5% behind the market over the past month; the weekly loss is 7.96% and momentum is weak at 30. The price sits below the 200-day average by 4.2%. It reports tomorrow, so the size is small. Action: small sell in the 318-321 band, target 316.60. Invalidated if: A close above 321.48.
- 14. Silver — short. At 53.395 dollars with the price in a falling high-low structure; the monthly loss is 16.89% and it is 56% below its one-year high. A 1.32% fall yesterday took it to 52.78 and it sits below the 200-day average by 16.6%. Action: sell in the 53.50-54.10 band, target 52.78. Invalidated if: A close above 55.50.
- 15. Platinum — short. At 1,513.70 dollars with the price in a falling high-low structure; a 1.50% fall yesterday took it to 1,504.70 and the monthly loss is 14.71%. It is 46.9% below its one-year high. Action: sell in the 1,518-1,535 band, target 1,504.70. Invalidated if: A close above 1,545.
- 16. Palladium — short. At 1,035.50 dollars with the price in a falling high-low structure; the monthly loss is 18.06% and it touched 1,030 yesterday. Momentum at 27 is deep in oversold, so the size is small. Action: small sell in the 1,038-1,048 band, target 1,030. Invalidated if: A close above 1,060.
- 17. Gold — short. At 4,021.40 dollars with the price in a falling high-low structure; the monthly loss is 6.94% and it sits just above the 4,000 threshold. Even on a day when the Fed meeting began and Brazil saw heavy selling, the safe-haven bid did not appear; that shows how strong the structure is. Action: sell in the 4,025-4,040 band, target 4,012.40. Invalidated if: A close above 4,044.
- 18. XRP — short. At 1.3022 dollars with the price in a falling high-low structure; the monthly loss is 14.74% and the price sits below the 200-day average by 3.7%. It rose 1.20% yesterday, which created a better level for the sell. Action: sell in the 1.3050-1.3130 band, target 1.2939. Invalidated if: A close above 1.3159.
- 19. AVAX — short. At 8.774 dollars and 17.5% behind bitcoin over the past month; the monthly loss is 19.07% and it touched 8.662 yesterday. The price has moved below the 200-day average. Action: sell in the 8.80-8.90 band, target 8.662. Invalidated if: A close above 9.06.
