26 trade ideas for 29 October 2026: 7 long and 19 short. Entry, stop and two targets are given for each, with the reasoning and the level at which the idea is abandoned.
Today's framework
Thursday 29 October 2026. Cash flow is the dividing line. Microsoft generated 19 billion dollars of free cash after its results and rose 3% after the close; Alphabet burned 9.1 billion, fell 10% and lost 396 billion dollars of market value. In chips, Samsung's record profit was not enough and it still fell 5-6%. The European Central Bank decides today and US inflation data follows.
Seven of the ideas are long and nineteen short. Seven are taken at the market; the rest wait for an upward reaction before the sell is taken. The buy side is energy and the companies that fund their spending from their own cash.
Trade ideas
Entry is given as a band, or as the single level a conditional idea needs. The note under the table gives the reasoning and the level at which the idea is abandoned.

- 1. BTC — short. At 79,940 dollars and the 80,000 threshold was lost for a third time this week; a 1.23% fall yesterday took it to 79,710 and 356 million dollars of positions were liquidated, 205 million of them bets on a rise. The selling did not come from crypto; it began with the technology weakness in Asia after Samsung. The price sits above the 200-day average by 5.4%, so the long-term structure is intact, but every recovery meets selling in the 81,300 area. The direction is down in the short term; an upward reaction counts as a selling opportunity. Action: sell on an upward reaction into the 80,400-81,000 band, target 79,710. Invalidated if: A close above 81,830.
- 2. ETH — short. At 2,309.06 dollars with the price in a falling high-low structure; the monthly loss is 14.12% and it fell 1.93% yesterday. Action: buy in the 181-182.50 band, target 183.65. Invalidated if: A close below 178.80.
- 4. CVX — long. At 229.20 dollars with the price holding its rising high-low structure; over the past month it is 10.9% ahead of the market and the monthly gain is 12.14%.
